After a significantly long wait, Lexus, the Japanese auto manufacturer, recently introduced a reliable three-row luxury SUV to the American market. The 2024 Lexus TX, is an all-new car that surpasses the two-row RX in size and replaces the truck-based LX600 flagship as the company's largest SUV. Its basis is the same as the Toyota Grand Highlander, but it comes with extra amenities, better interior materials, a unique external design, and an additional plug-in hybrid engine that is optional. There will be three different trims of the TX, each equipped with a distinct powertrain. According to Lexus, the entry-level and midrange versions should be on sale this fall, while the premium model will launch "at a later date." There is no doubting the TX's size with a wheelbase of 2,949mm and an overall length of 5,159mm. It is larger than rivals like the Acura MDX and seems to be a far more serious three-row attempt than the previous RX L, which featured a third-row seat that was only really good for occasional use. The TX's wayback seats are much more comfortable than the RX L's, and access is made simple by a second-row seat that can be easily flipped forward with the touch of a button. Moreover, behind the final row, there is extra room for goods. Let's have a glance at the brand-new luxury SUV from Lexus in more detail.

2024 Lexus TX: Powertrain Details

The TX provides three different engine options, much like the Grand Highlander. The TX options, however, vary. A 2.4-litre petrol engine with 275bhp and 430Nm of torque is standard on the TX 350. It may be equipped with front- or all-wheel drive and couples with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. There are two other hybrid choices also available to buyers. The Grand Highlander's 2.4-litre "Hybrid Max" engine and 6-speed automated gearbox are used in the TX 500h, which produces 366bhp and 554.5Nm of torque. A CVT-equipped 3.5-litre V6 plug-in hybrid TX 550h+ variant is also available from Lexus. A 53.10-kilometre projected EV range and 406bhp are provided by the PHEV. Utilising Lexus' Direct4 AWD technology, all hybrids. Dynamic rear-wheel steering is also available for the TX 550h+.

2024 Lexus TX: Design

The TX's aggressive and muscular styling moves Lexus' well-known Spindle grille design in a new direction. The "Unified Spindle" borrows elements from the brand's older aesthetic, but it has been reimagined such that horizontal "bars" now run across the grille, even though the iconic form is still there. Aerodynamic performance, according to Lexus, was given top priority throughout the design. A tiny aperture that runs beneath the leading edge of the hood connects the headlamps that flank Lexus' redesigned grille. The grille's bulbous centre and sculpted hood enhance the front end's prominence. Aside from that, the TX is attractive, with a rather blocky appearance and a substantial D-Pillar.

The liftgate will house a horizontal light bar, which is now a standard feature throughout the automotive sector. The TX 350 will roll on 20-inch wheels, however, 22-inch versions are also offered. 22-inch wheels will be standard on the TX 500h and 550h+. The exterior paint options are Celestial Silver Metallic, Incognito, Caviar, Matado, Nightfall Mica, Cloudburst Grey, Wind Chill Pearl, and Red Mica.

Furthermore, Lexus believes that the inside styling of the TX sets it apart from its Toyota sibling. The cabin has a head-up display, an optional digital gauge cluster, and a 14.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other standard features of the car comprise Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and more. With roomy storage areas, multiple charging ports, and power outlets, it has an effective upmarket appearance and feels for a Lexus while maintaining a high level of functionality. There will be three interior colour options: Black, Birch, and Peppercorn. Along with the Base, Premium, and Luxury trim levels, the RX500h F Sport Performance is also available.
