Lexus has released some teaser images of the upcoming GX model and officially confirmed that the GX SUV will be revealed on June 8 in Austin, Texas. On their official website, Lexus posted some images showing the model's rear end and a major portion of its side profile. These images indicate that the new vehicle draws parallels with the Toyota Land Cruiser, but hosts some subtle changes in styling to help it stand out a little bit. Speaking of the similarities, the new Lexus GX will be based on the body-on-frame TNGA-F platform that also underpins the Land Cruiser 300, Lexus LX600, and the Toyota Sequoia. With the help of this platform, the new GX maintains its off-road credentials and provides improved off-road performance and better ride quality.
Besides, both the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Lexus GX previously shared similar powertrain options, but it is speculated that the upcoming GX could come with hybridised powertrains for improved efficiency and increased low-end torque. However, there has been no official communication from the Japanese manufacturer.

2024 Lexus GX: What Do The Teaser Images Reveal?
Although there are some glaring differences between the Land Cruiser and the Lexus GX model, both vehicles share some similarities. For instance, the images reveal that the 2024 Lexus GX features tail lamps connected by a full-width LED strip at the rear. Particularly in the area surrounding the rear fenders, the side profile appears to be characterised by straighter lines, just above the handlebars. Furthermore, the side mirrors seem larger and narrower than those on the Land Cruiser.
The GX SUV's large clamshell bonnet features elevated corners at the front to make it easier for drivers to view the corners of the vehicle when off-roading. The SUV also includes triple-element headlights below a sculpted hood, L-shaped DRLs (daytime running lights), a traditional spindle grille, and a muscular wheel arch.
2024 Lexus GX Powertrain: What to Expect?
In terms of powertrain, the 2024 Lexus GX is anticipated to draw power from a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 engine, rather than a V8 engine. This V6 engine can also be found on the Lexus LX model. Also, there is also a possibility of the vehicle receiving a hybrid powertrain under its hood as well.
