Kia recently introduced an updated version of its popular Picanto compact hatchback. This smallest Kia model incorporates a more aggressive style and better technology within the interior, however, it is no longer available with turbocharged engines and is now only offered with normally aspirated ones. The third-generation Picanto was first released in 2017 and received a minor upgrade in 2020. The Picanto adopts the "Opposites United" style language in its own unique way, demonstrating how seriously Kia is taking this round of styling updates. With additional standard equipment, over-the-air update functionality, and new technology that is touted to make it "one of the safest cars in its class," the new Picanto claims to be easier to drive than before. According to the brand, the hatchback was specifically created with young professionals and short, urban commutes in mind.

2024 Kia Picanto: Exterior
The new Picanto's aggressive and futuristic appearance is a result of its contemporary and athletic design cues, which were inspired by Kia's "Opposites United" design philosophy. The car's striking appearance is enhanced by the addition of a new bumper, tiger-nose grille, fender, and bonnet to the front fascia. The 2024 Picanto has a commanding stance and an enhanced modern and technologically progressive look thanks to optional LED headlights and Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). The rear design emphasises the vertical connection between the new rear lights and rear bumper, highlighting strength and width. There are two trim levels to choose from. The base vehicle comes with 14-inch or 15-inch alloy wheels as standard, with a new optional 16-inch choice. The GT-Line model has a hot-hatch-inspired design update, recessed bumpers, and extra equipment. Moreover, the palette for 2023 now includes four more paint hues, taking the total available colour options to ten.

It also boasts ADAS and other safety features including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), cyclist and pedestrian detection, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Driver Attention Warning, and Leading Vehicle Departure Warning (DAW+). In the event that another vehicle is seen while reversing, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) informs the driver and causes the car to stop.
