The new Citroen C3 Aircross is set to make its global debut on April 18, 2024. A teaser video is here, revealing a few significant details from a design perspective; however, we expect the production-spec model to borrow design cues from the new e-C3 model available in the European market.
Based on the teaser, the updated Citroen C3 Aircross will get a pair of boxy headlamps with C-shaped LED daytime running lights, the new emblem, and a dual-tone colour scheme. Other than that, we expect that the latest C3 Aircross will be larger than the current model and sit on the Smart Car platform that underpins the India-spec Citroen C3 Aircross. Other bits include revised bumpers and a chiselled tailgate.
The new C3 Aircross' interior will likely incorporate a two-screen arrangement along with a few compartments for storing essentials. There is a possibility that you may see lots of tech in the interior. Citroen will offer the latest iteration of the car in a seven-seater configuration.

New Citroen C3 Aircross: Powertrain
Given that the C3 Aircross will make its debut as an EV, expect the same powertrain setup (including a front axle-mounted electric motor) as the e-C3 hatchback. The internal combustion engine-powered (ICE) model could follow at a later date.
New Citroen C3 Aircross: India Launch on the Cards?
As for the Indian market, there is still some time before Citroen brings a mid-life update for C3 Aircross. Launched in India in September 2023, the Citroen C3 Aircross comes with a 1.2-litre Gen3 turbo-petrol engine mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Price-wise, the vehicle ranges from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14.27 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, it takes on the likes of the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The Citroen C3 Aircross is the brand's fourth product and the only one available in five- and seven-seater configurations within Citroen India's portfolio. As of now, the model is available in the ICE version in India, while the electrified version of the C3 Aircross is yet to be introduced.
Citroen Basalt to Arrive in India in 2024
However, before that happens, expect the launch of the Citroen Basalt SUV in the Indian market in 2024. Based on the C3 Aircross, the Basalt will be Citroen's fourth car under the C-Cubed programme. While we already had a good look at the exterior at the official unveiling in March 2024, the Basalt's interior is yet to be revealed.
