The Bentayga SUV is the British premium carmaker Bentley's best-selling model, which is not surprising given its popularity in the high-end luxury SUV segment. A little over four years have passed since Bentley last updated the Bentayga, and as the 2024 model year approaches, the upscale SUV is receiving enhanced safety systems and new cabin features. The majority of the changes focus on newly introduced features that are standard or optional, while the front grille does away with its vertical slats in favour of a fresh mesh grille that resembles the front fascia of the recently revamped Flying Spur. Here's what the 2024 Bentayga will have in store for customers in terms of features, performance, and other factors.

2024 Bentley Bentayga: End of the W12
Since there are hardly any aesthetic improvements, Bentley doesn't refer to this as a facelift. However, the all-around upgrades for the 2024 SUV go beyond what we often see in mid-year revisions and include more equipment as well as the launch of a completely new grade or trim. Since 2003, the brand has been equipping its vehicles with the W12 engine. It has been available in the Speed variants of the Continental GT, the Bentayga, and the Flying Spur. But now, the manufacturer is set to bid adieu to the W12. In April next year, Bentley will cease producing the said engine as the British marque moves closer to an all-electric portfolio. With this, the 437bhp V6 PHEV and the 534.5bhp bi-turbo V8 will be the only available units for 2024.
2024 Bentley Bentayga: Interior Features
The extended wheelbase Bentayga's rear-axle steering is carried over to the Bentayga. The Bentayga S and Azure come standard with the feature, but other trims can choose to forego it. To bridge the gap between the high-spec Azure and the other models in the range, a new "A" variant has been added to the portfolio. It includes 'A' badges, 21-inch alloy wheels with a machine finish, an Azure-styled fluted radiator grille, and vented massage sets with 15 leather shades.
The Bentayga also has airline seats with postural adjustments. The heating and ventilation systems now use data from maps to determine when the car crosses a tunnel, where an increased pollution level is anticipated, the shift to recirculation mode, and more. The Bentayga's interior now has 100 per cent recycled nylon floor mats, making it more environment-friendly.
The Intelligent Park Assist pack consists of smartphone-operated remote parking, which was previously only available for BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Also on offer are a 3D Surround View camera and a new Bang & Olufsen sound system.
2024 Bentley Bentayga: Exterior Design
The Topaz is the most striking of the eight new exterior paint jobs introduced to an extensive list of current 112 shades. There are also seven satins offered within the range. Royal Ebony, Light Sapphire, Orange Flame, Alpine Green, British Racing Green, Cricket Ball, and Candy Red are additional hues on the palette. A wider rear spoiler for improved aerodynamic stability at high speeds, high gloss carbon fiber door mirrors, side sills with distinctive exterior badging, and carbon fibre extensions to both bumpers are also included in the styling specification. The redesigned Bentayga will sport 21-inch multi-spoke wheels.

Bentley Flying Spur Arrives in India
The Flying Spur Hybrid was launched by Bentley for Rs 5.25 crore in India. It is propelled by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine and an electric motor that together generate 750Nm of peak torque and 536bhp of maximum power. According to Bentley, the Flying Spur Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds and claims a driving range of up to 805-kilometre. The electric-only driving range stands at 41-kilometre.
There are 60 exterior shades to choose from for the Flying Spur Hybrid, along with Mulliner customisation options. The chrome trimmings on the door trims, window surrounds, door handles, headlight surrounds, exhaust pipes, grille, and the Flying B mascot are all blackened out as part of Bentley's blackline specifications for the Flying Spur Hybrid. There is a 'hybrid' badge on the boot lid of the car.
Moving inside the cabin, with five standard and ten optional colours, the automaker provides buyers with a total of 15 upholstery shades to choose from. For the dashboard, customers have a choice of eight veneer variants. Bentley also offers contrast stitching, piping, and badges for the seats that enhance the level of customisation. In terms of market competition, the Hybrid version of the Flying Spur competes against the Mercedes-Maybach S580e on a global scale, however, it has no direct competitors in India.
