Toyota has launched the all-new Vellfire MPV in the Indian market. Following its collaboration with another leading automaker Maruti Suzuki, the manufacturer is thriving in India. With the debuts and launches of several new offerings at a fairly faster rate in the country, the company seems to be broadening its product offering. The Vellfire SHEV (strong hybrid electric vehicle) from Toyota has arrived on Indian shores in two trim levels: the Hi-Grade, priced at Rs 1.20 crore, and the VIP Grade, priced at Rs 1.30 crore. All prices are ex-showroom. The VIP variant comes with an Executive Lounge package. The new Vellfire is a sibling model of the more opulently furnished Lexus LM. Rated for 40 per cent of the distance and 60 per cent of the time in zero-emission mode, the powerful hybrid electric model is a self-charging model. Its mileage stands at 19.28km/l, according to the firm. Utilising a cutting-edge suspension system for improved rideability, the vehicle is built on the TNGA chassis.

Based on the company's modular TNGA-K platform, the new Vellfire weighs less than the previous model. With a 3,000mm wheelbase, its dimensions are 4,995mm in length, 1,850mm in width, and 1,950mm in height. In comparison to the former version, the width, and wheelbase have not changed, but the height and length have grown by 50 and 60mm, respectively.
The new Vellfire and the departing model continue to have a similar appearance. With split headlamps on either side, the massive six-slat grille features the Toyota emblem in the center. LED daytime running lamps are housed in the bottom section of the headlamps, and a U-shaped chrome strip connects the two headlamps across the bumper. The Vellfire's glasshouse has been simplified into a single unit with a noticeable bend and blacked-out pillars that have a chrome outline. It receives a recognisable V-shaped tail-lamp enclosure with plenty of chrome accents and distinct Vellfire badging.
