The Toyota Innova Crysta was previously known to be available for purchase alongside its successor, the Innova Hycross. This year, Toyota Motor revamped the Innova Crysta MPV with new design elements, features, and engine. The Japanese auto giant has not yet disclosed the prices for the 2023 model, however, it is scheduled to go on sale next month. The launch comes months after the company introduced the Innova Hycross, an MPV based on the Innova Crysta with a powerful hybrid powertrain. The updated Innova Crysta has returned to the market after a brief absence to make way for the Hycross. It will only be available with a diesel-manual powertrain and will be offered in four different trim levels: G, Gx, Vx, and Zx. Bookings for the revised Crysta are now underway for a token amount of Rs 50,000. White Pearl Crystal Shine, Superwhite, Silver, Attitude Black, and Avant Garde Bronze are the five colour options offered for the MPV. Interested customers can book the new Innova Crysta both at dealer outlets or via their official website.

The Innova Crysta has been refreshed with a bolder front fascia, comparable to the Hycross. It will have an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto air conditioning with rear vents, and ambient lighting. As part of the safety equipment, the MPV includes seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, vehicle stability control, and hill assist. It comes standard with a seven-seat layout, and all variants, except the top-spec Zx trim, have the option of an eight-seat layout. The upholstery will be available in two colour options-Camel Tan and Black.
The Innova Crysta is marketed as a less expensive alternative to the brand-new Hycross. It keeps the 2.4-litre diesel engine, which is likely to be updated to meet upcoming emission standards but loses the six-speed automatic transmission and offers a five-speed manual transmission instead. Futher, it has two drive modes- Eco and power drive. Until now, the engine has been rated at 148bhp and 343Nm, and the updated model's performance figures may differ slightly.
Priced higher than the base-spec petrol Toyota Innova Hycross, the diesel-only Toyota Innova Crysta is anticipated to start at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). The Crysta will still be less expensive than the feature-rich hybrid versions of the Hycross, though. The two MPVs will remain positioned above the Kia Carens and below the Kia Carnival.
