Jaguar Land Rover has launched the 2023 Velar SUV in India at Rs 93 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift variant is Rs 3.59 lakh more expensive than the outgoing model, which retailed at Rs 89.41 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. In our market, reservations for the vehicle have already begun, and delivery will commence in September 2023. The SUV has a number of aesthetic upgrades over the outgoing model, as well as a completely redesigned interior packed with tech-based amenities. It has a top speed of 217km/h and is only offered in the fully loaded HSE trim. 2023 Range Rover Velar: Engine
Mechanically, the facelifted version is available with a choice of two engines: 2.0-litre petrol engine, and 2.0-litre diesel unit with a mild-hybrid system. The petrol motor delivers 247bhp and 365Nm while the diesel mill generates 201bhp and 430Nm. For transmission, both motors employ an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The claimed top speed of the diesel engine is 210km/h, and it can reach 100km/h from a standstill in 8.3 seconds. The maximum speed of the petrol motor, on the other hand, is 217km/h, and it takes only 7.5 seconds to reach from 0-100km/h. In addition, the updated SUV sports an air suspension with an Elegant Arrival setting that lowers the ride height by 40mm while getting in or out of the vehicle.
2023 Range Rover Velar: Exterior & Interior
The redesigned SUV features a large grille, pixel LED headlights with modified DRLs, wide air vents, and a bonnet with Range Rover branding. Further, the car's rear end includes a shark-fin antenna, a sloped windscreen, wrap-around taillamps, and a new bumper. Inside, the SUV gets a revised cabin with a new 11.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other prominent interior features include a digital instrument cluster, a redesigned dashboard, heated seats, auto climate control, a cleaner centre console, an air purifier, a multifunctional steering wheel, a wireless charger, and more.
