The RDE norms, which will take effect on April 1 this year, are currently a major development for the automotive industry. As a result, all auto manufacturers are updating their lineup to meet the new emission standards. On that note, the Nissan Magnite has also received these updates. Consequently, the latest iteration of the Magnite now includes a variety of safety features as part of the standard equipment in all variants. The compact SUV now has hydraulic brake assist, traction control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, dual airbags, hill start assist, and ABS with EBD. Following these updates, the cost of the 2023 Nissan Magnite ranges from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10.58 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.

The latest update given to the Magnite is also the most significant one, since its launch in the Indian market. These improvements follow the debut of the Magnite's new rival, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, for which reservations have recently opened. The Nissan Magnite is available with two engine options: a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that churns out 99bhp of maximum power and 160Nm of peak torque and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that generates a maximum output of 71bhp and 96Nm. Additionally, the car comes with two transmission options: a 5-speed manual and a CVT.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is also available with two engine options: 1.2-litre NA petrol and 1.0-litre turbo-petrol. Moreover, a 5-speed manual transmission, a 5-speed automatic transmission, and a 7-speed DCT are available with the SUV. For the uninitiated, the brand-new Fronx is based on the architecture of the Baleno and features a bold coupe-like roofline. The windscreen's sharp rake is striking. Without a doubt, the Nissan Magnite has a stylish exterior appearance. Furthermore, both compact SUVs are less than 4 metres long.

There are currently five variants of the Magnite available for purchase: XE, XL, XV Executive, XV, and XV Premium. This best-selling Nissan model is stuffed to the gills with features. It includes a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, LED headlamps, 50+ connected car features, Smartwatch connectivity, and 16-inch alloy wheels, among other features.

Meanwhile, Nissan launched the Magnite Red Edition in July last year, which features a red accent on the grille, wheel arch, and body side cladding. Inside, the red-themed dashboard, the red accent on the door side armrest, and the red centre console all continue the colour scheme. The SUV's body graphics, tail door garnish, and a large Red Edition-specific badge are additional exterior upgrades.
