Maruti Suzuki, already well-known for its reasonably priced vehicles, has been making efforts to expand into the premium segment as well. The Baleno has been a major success for the Indian automaker, and it is unquestionably one of the most popular premium hatchbacks in the market. Recently, Maruti Suzuki upgraded the Baleno to conform to Bharat Stage 6 Phase II regulations, making it compatible with E20 fuel. Maruti Suzuki has been keeping the Baleno up to date with frequent upgrades, and the most recent one included a safety feature that is uncommon to this segment. The Indian government has pushed for stronger rules for vehicle safety, including the usage of three-point seat belts and the installation of six airbags in all cars and SUVs sold in the country.

The centre rear seat now includes an adjustable headrest in addition to the three-point safety belt. These improvements will probably be made available on the Toyota Glanza in the near future.
