Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has finally launched the new Verna in the country at an introductory price of Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings of the sedan were already open at Rs 25,000. With its first-in-segment features, such as heated and ventilated front seats and a switchable-type infotainment and climate controller that provides seamless integration of the infotainment system and the climate control system, the next-generation sedan is ready to "elevate customer experiences" says the company. The new Verna, according to the firm, is more powerful and larger than the outgoing model. Moreover, it is the second car in its class to have ADAS. For the uninitiated, every sedan type will come with ADAS Level 2 capabilities and 30 standard features. The updated Verna will encounter stiff competition from the new 2023 Honda City, the Volkswagen Virtus, the Skoda Slavia, and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in India. 2023 Hyundai Verna: Exterior
On the exterior front, the new-gen Verna has the company's "Sensuous Sportiness" design language. A new blacked-out grille with integrated LED headlamps and a sharp-looking bumper with LED strips running symmetrically across the face of the car is added to the sporty front end of the 2023 Hyundai Verna. Even from sideways, the car gets a sporty look. At the rear, the next-gen Verna has taillamps with LED lighting. The new Hyundai Verna sticks out among mid-size sedans thanks to its rising beltline and coupe-like rear end. Aside from this, the alloy wheels with diamond cuts offer a sporty appeal.

2023 Hyundai Verna: Interior
A new 10.25-inch HD infotainment screen and a digital cluster with a TFT MID are situated in the centre of the dashboard. Also, the Verna 2023 comes equipped with the industry's first climate control system. Hyundai claims that this will enhance the interaction between the two functionalities. Also, another first for the industry, the redesigned Verna now has heated and ventilated front seats. The eight-speaker Bose audio system in the Hyundai Verna is another notable interior feature.

2023 Hyundai Verna: Features
The 2023 Hyundai Verna has the Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS) for some variants. It comprises roughly 17 level 2 ADAS capabilities using Hyundai SmartSense, according to the carmaker. The new ADAS features will be comparable to those already available in Hyundai's most recent Tucson SUV model. Rear cross-traffic alert, high beam assistance, lane keep assistance, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, blind spot monitoring, and driver attentiveness warning are a few of these.
The Verna will be the second sedan in India to offer ADAS technology, following the recently launched Honda City facelift. It also has electronic parking brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, and hill-start assist control in its feature list.
2023 Hyundai Verna: Powertrain Details
The 2023 Hyundai Verna has two engine options: a 1.5-litre NA engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit. For transmission, both a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT gearboxes are available as options. The standard 1.5-litre engine will produce 113 bhp of maximum power and 144Nm of peak torque, whilst the turbocharged 1.5-litre engine will be more powerful with an output of 158bhp and 253Nm.

2023 Hyundai Verna: Dimensions
Dimensionally, the 2023 Verna offers plenty of legroom for both row passengers owing to its 2,670mm wheelbase, the longest in the market. The new Verna, according to the firm, is the widest sedan in its class with a 1,765mm width. It is 4,535mm in length and 1,475mm in height. 15-inch alloy wheels are standard on the Hyundai Verna.
2023 Hyundai Verna: Colours & Variants
Seven single-tone and two dual-tone exterior colour options are offered for the new Verna, which has four variants: EX, S, SX, and SX (O). Moreover, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and Tellurian Brown are three additional paint colours offered by Hyundai.
