BMW India is all set to bring the next-generation BMW 7 Series and the first-ever BMW i7 electric sedan to India on January 7. The launches will take place at the automaker's Joytown event, which is to be held in Mumbai. With the launch of the BMW XM and the BMW M340i xDrive earlier this month, the luxury manufacturer has been quite busy lately.
The 2023 BMW 7 Series has already been spotted in India several times this year. With split headlamps, a wider kidney grille, new front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, and other design elements, the updated sedan gets a completely fresh look.
The new-generation BMW 7 Series for India is likely to come with three powertrain options. The 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel with 295bhp, the 3.0-litre straight-six petrol with 375bhp, and the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with 535bhp are expected to be offered for the model.
The BMW i7, on the other hand, is the 7 Series' all-electric variant. It will be available in the xDrive60 version, which comes with a 101.7kWh battery pack. It includes dual electric motors (one on each axle), which generate 536bhp of maximum power and 745Nm of peak torque. The all-electric BMW i7 is expected to offer a range between 590-625 kilometers (WLTP Cycle) on a single charge and will have fast and standard charging options.

The BMW 7 Series is currently being sold in India in two petrol variants - the 740Li M Sport Edition and the 740Li BMW Individual M Sport Edition as well as three diesel variants - the 730Ld DPE Signature, the 730Ld M Sport Edition, and the 730Ld BMW Individual M Sport Edition.
The BMW 7 Series and i7's interior will have a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument dashboard, 5.5-inch touchscreen displays mounted on the rear door handles, and a redesigned flat-bottom steering wheel, among other features. The 31-inch 8k theatre display mounted on the roof, however, will be the key attraction. The i4 sedan and the iX SUV are two electric vehicles that BMW currently offers in India. The BMW i4 is available in two trim levels: the i4 eDrive40 Sport and the i4 eDrive40 M Sport.
