BMW has officially launched the 2023 520d M Sport in India. The new M Sport version of the 520d is available in the market at a price tag of Rs 68.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model is the latest addition to the line up for the 5 series, which leaves out some existing variants. The German manufacturer has silently revised the 5 series line up and discontinued the 530d M Sport, the 520d Luxury Line, and the 50 Jahre M Edition. Reportedly, the 3.0-litre diesel used in the 530d has been axed and the range-topping M5 Competition has been delisted from its official website. With this rejig, the 5 series includes only two variants - the new 520d M Sport and the 530i M Sport.

BMW now offers the newly launched premium sedan in the 520d M Sport trim, instead of the Luxury Line. While the existing 530i M Sport trim continues as it is and currently retails at Rs 65.40 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
BMW 520d M Sport: Exterior
The 2023 520d M Sport comes with a sportier-looking appearance that is slightly different than the earlier model. The car gets new front and rear bumpers with air sills as part of the M Aerodynamics package. Besides, it also sports 18-inch alloys, blue brake callipers, chrome tip exhausts, and M-badging.
BMW 520d M Sport: Interior and Features
On the inside, the new car boasts a few upgrades such as M-specific Sports seats, M-badged door sills, floor mats, and an M leather steering wheel. Further, it also gains BMW's Laserlight technology over the Luxury Line. Feature-wise, the 520d M Sport has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the iDrive 7 operating system, a heads-up display, a Harman sound system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, four drive modes, a BMW display key, remote parking, ambient lighting, and others.

BMW 520d M Sport: Powertrain
Powertrain remains unchanged, which means that the new 520d M Sport uses the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 188bhp of maximum power and 400Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. As per the company, the new car can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.3 seconds.
The BMW 520d M Sport has direct competition in the form of the Jaguar XF D200 and the Mercedes-Benz E220d.
