The RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback are all set to arrive in their updated performance trims.
The 2023 Audi RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback Performance editions have been introduced by the German automotive manufacturer. The new high-performance variants will offer more power and torque than the standard versions, meaning the 4.0-litre turbocharged petrol V8 engine will deliver 620bhp and 850Nm. This is an increase of 29bhp and 50Nm over standard models, thanks to the larger turbochargers producing 2.6 bar (+0.2 bar) of boost. The eight-speed automatic transmission has been returned for the job as well.
The Performance variants have shed 8 kilos, thanks to thinner insulation components in engine compartments. The RS6 performance variant now weighs 2,090kg whereas the RS7 weighs 2,065kg. The 22-inch Y-shaped alloy wheels are also lighter than those found on standard cars and permit better brake cooling, are also exclusive to the new performance editions. On higher trim levels, forged 22-inch wheels are available, saving 5kg per corner.
Audi has modified its quattro all-wheel drive system's central differential. It's smaller and lighter, and it can direct up to 70% of the engine's torque to the front axle or 85% to the rear.
The German carmaker asserts 0-100km/h acceleration times of 3.4 seconds for both cars, a 0.2-second improvement over regular versions. The standard RS6 and RS7 have an electronically limited top speed of 280km/h, but the RS Dynamic Package Plus on the Performance versions increases this to 305km/h.
Inside, the overall cabin structure on both models remains the same, but new blue accents have been added. The seats are now upholstered in Valcona leather with honeycomb stitching, while the sides of the centre console and the selector lever knob are covered in Dinamica microfiber. The new performance editions will now have motorsport-inspired gear shift indicators as well as a traffic light icon embedded within the 12.3-inch digital driver's display. The new performance models have received metallic and matte Ascari Blue, or matte Dew Silver, paint options. There are numerous matte grey add-ons available, though matte carbon is optional.
The Performance versions will be offered in three trim levels: Performance, Performance Carbon Black as well as Performance Carbon Vorsprung. The RS6 boasts a starting price of £112,650 and the RS7 boasts £116,305 as an introductory price in the UK.
