After the Suzuki S-Cross, the Japanese carmaker has plans to take the wraps off the 2022 Vitara. The 2022 Suzuki Vitara is likely to share most of its internals with the recently revealed S-Cross.
Just recently, Suzuki revealed its new S-Cross. Now, the brand is focusing on the mid-size SUV, Vitara. Bear in mind, the Suzuki Vitara in the limelight is the mid-size SUV on sale in the international market. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza on sale in India is due for an update, and the makers will soon bring in its new generation as well. However, that is a story for another day.
The Vitara is likely to inherit a new platform from Suzuki, which also underpins the new S-Cross. The engine is likely to be the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit. It has been confirmed in the teaser video that the new Suzuki Vitara will feature a 48-volt hybrid system. The gearbox options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed auto.
The driver aid systems such as autonomous emergency braking system, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, blindspot monitor and lane-keep assist which are offered with the new Suzuki S-Cross, are likely to make their way into the new Suzuki Vitara as well. The teaser video also confirms that the new Vitara will feature an all-LED headlamp assembly.
The global unveil is likely to be scheduled for January 2022, and the new Suzuki Vitara will go on sale in the European markets by the Q1 of next year. Maruti Suzuki will not bring in the larger mid-size SUV to India, instead, the brand is working on an all-new generation of the Vitara Brezza which is likely to be launched in the coming months.
