The Kodiaq has gotten a little dearer at Rs 37.49 lakh (ex-showroom) this time around.
Skoda debuted the 2022 Kodiaq in India on January 10 this year and within a few days, the company announced that the car was booked out for the entire year. While deliveries have been going on since then, the company has not accepted any new bookings. However, Skoda has now announced that it has reopened orders for the Kodiaq, with deliveries scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
The reopening of bookings also comes with a hike in price. It now starts at Rs 37.49 lakh (ex-showroom) against the earlier starting price of Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Like before, the Kodiaq is available in three trims. The Style variant comes in at Rs 37.49 lakh, the Sportline at Rs 38.49 lakh, and the Laurin & Klement (L&K) at Rs 39.99 lakh. Bookings for the car start at Rs 50,000.
This time around, Skoda has reportedly claimed little changes on the whole. However, the car comes with a 190-hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that comes mated to a 7-speed DSG and with power supplied to all four wheels.
The car will also retain its Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) system from the old model that uses variable dampers to adjust ride quality. Speaking of features, the top variant of the car comes with a CANTON 12-speaker sound system, hands-free parking, a panoramic sunroof and a host of notable ones like blinds, blankets, nap rests and an umbrella holder.
In the Indian market, the Kodiaq goes up against the Jeep Meridian, Citroen C5 Aircross, MG Gloster and the Toyota Fortuner.
