All three variants of the Kodiaq are well-loaded with only the most premium bits being reserved for the top variant
Skoda India has launched the 2022 Kodiaq facelift in India. Its available in three variants – Style, SportLine and Laurin & Klement. The Kodiaq is making a comeback in India after an almost two-year hiatus, ever since it got discontinued in April 2020 owing to the BS6 emission norms. Take a look at the prices of all variants in the table below:
Variant | Price (ex-showroom) |
Style | Rs. 34.99 lakh |
SportLine | Rs. 35.99 lakh |
Laurin & Klement | Rs. 37.99 lakh |
The facelifted Kodiaq is a petrol-only model and you get a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine under the bonnet. It’s good for 187bhp and 320Nm, and channels its drive through a 7-speed DSG (dual clutch) transmission. There’s a 4x4 system as well and this entire set-up is standard on all three variants of the Kodiaq.
The designers have made subtle tweaks to the Kodiaq and while it looks handsome as always, there is a new-found sharpness in its design. The shape of the grille has been tweaked, it gets even more chrome around it than before, the headlights are slimmer and angular, there’s a new LED DRL signature, the bonnet is now more high-set and you get redesigned bumpers. Last, but not the least, there are new 18-inch alloy wheels and the thin multi-spoke design looks gorgeous on the Kodiaq.
The Kodiaq’s feature list is quite lengthy as well. All three variants of the SUV get premium bits like a panoramic sunroof, an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 625W 12-speaker Canton sound system, 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with lumbar support, and nine airbags.
In fact, the only differences between the base Style and mid-spec SportLine variant are the Virtual Cockpit (digital instrument cluster) and textile floor mats. The top-spec L&K variant gets a 360-degree camera, Dynamic Chassis Control with drive modes, Hill Descent Control, a tyre pressure monitoring system and cooled and heated front seats over and above the Style and SportLine variants.
The Kodiaq’s return to the Indian market will see it renew its rivalry with the Toyota Fortuner. It will also go up against the MG Gloster and the upcoming Jeep Meridian.
