The 2022 922 911 GT3, which has been heavily inspired by Porsche's 911 RSR race car, has been launched in India. The sportscar also features a powerplant sourced from the Porsche 911 Cup car.
The 992-Gen Porsche 911 GT3 has been launched in India, and the prices start at Rs 2.49 Crore (ex-showroom). For no additional cost, the 2022 911 GT3 can be had with a touring package as well.
The 992-Gen Porsche 911 GT3 made its global debut back in February 2021, when the 911 GT3 adopted Porsche’s race learnings and put them to use on the streets. The 992-Gen 911 GT3 gets a double-wishbone suspension system – It is found in Porsche’s 911 RSR race car. Additionally, the 911 GT3 gets a swan-neck rear wing and adjustable front diffuser, which have been borrowed from the 911 RSR race car as well.
The front wheel size is 20 inches, whereas, the rear gets a 21-inch set. This overall set-up has helped the 911 GT3 improve its handling and chop off 17 seconds from the record time of its predecessor around the Green Hell. The 2022 992-Gen 911 GT3 has lapped the Nurburgring in 6 minutes and 59.927 seconds.
The engine is a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six unit, which has been sourced from the GT3 Cup car. The power output is marked at 503bhp and 470Nm, all of which is delivered as the engine revs to 9,000rpm. The sportscar is also offered with a six-speed three-pedal-manual box. But if you wish for the convenience of an automatic, the 911 GT3 also gets the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
The claimed 0 – 100 km/hr timing for the 2022 911 GT3 is 3.2 seconds; however, the addition of the Touring Package makes the sports car slower by 0.5 seconds. The claimed top speed of the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is 318 km/h.
