The 2023 Hector facelift will retain a lot of features of the current model.
MG Motor India is all set to launch the facelifted version of the MG Hector in January 2023. And recently, a development mule of the car was caught being tested.
Judging from the spy shots, the upcoming car seems to have a lower grille shape, top-mounted LED DRLs, and bottom-mounted headlights with integrated fog lamp housings, and other features similar to the current model. The four-wheeler is most likely to get a new and bigger grille with a diamond-mesh design. The shots reveal a lot of metallic components, hinting at a high-end appearance.
The SUV appears to have no major modifications to the exterior besides the front fascia. It is likely to arrive in the market with the same roof rails, chrome window trim, body-coloured ORVMs with integrated turn signals, and chrome door handles with bowl cover kits. According to the spy images, the same bonnet design seems to have been maintained along with thick body cladding.
The upcoming SUV is highly expected to share its powertrain specifics with the outgoing version – a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, a 2.0-litre diesel engine, and a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine. Once launched it will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, and Tata Safari.
