The Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been the dominant badge in the hotly contested compact SUV segment in India. Here's how it goes up against the popular homegrown Tata Nexon.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been reworked and reintroduced in a new avatar in the hotly contested compact SUV segment in India. The car will take on some of the most popular offerings like the updated Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon among others. Now we have already pitted the new Brezza with the Venue and the Sonet, so here’s how it ranks against the Tata Nexon.

As one can see, the new Brezza is a tad bit longer than the Tata Nexon. The latter, on the other hand, is wider and sits lower than the Brezza. The two have a difference of about 2mm in their wheelbase. While the ground clearance of the Brezza is not available yet it gets a smaller boot when compared to the Tata Nexon.

In terms of power figures, the Brezza falls a little short both in terms of horses as well as torque. We have only mentioned Nexon's petrol variant considering that the Brezza does not get a diesel version. The Brezza is available with an option of a 5-speed manual transmission as well as the new 6-speed torque converter.

In terms of pricing, the Nexon undercuts the new Brezza by almost Rs 46,000 for the entry-level variant. Speaking just of the petrol variants, the Nexon's top variant comes in at Rs 9.19 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Brezza's comes in at Rs 13.96 lakh.
