The Jeep Grand Cherokee in India will be equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Jeep, the American SUV manufacturer, has announced that the brand-new Grand Cherokee will be launched in India on November 11. The company's fourth model in the country, following the Compass, Wrangler, and Meridian, will be the latest generation of the SUV. Additionally, the company's facility in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra, will serve as the primary production location for all right-hand-drive SUVs.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee in India will be equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. However, the engine's power output for the Indian market has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer. Besides, the Quadra-Trac I 4x4 system with four drive modes—Auto, Sport, Snow, and Mud/Sand—will also be available.
Coming to the design, the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee will feature the signature seven-slot grille, two-piece LED tail lights, squared wheel arches, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, roof rails, dual exhaust tips integrated with the rear bumper, and shark-fin antenna.
In terms of interior, the new cabin has three touchscreen displays: a 10.25-inch driver display, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Uconnect 5, and a 10-inch colour heads-up display. Other features include a wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with ventilation, a dual-tone interior theme, ambient lighting, and an inside rearview mirror with a digital display.
Following its launch, the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee will directly compete with the likes of the Volvo XC90, Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, and, Audi Q7.
