The starting price for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is anticipated to be ₹85 lakh (ex-showroom).
The launch of the fifth-generation Grand Cherokee, which was initially planned by Jeep for November 11, has now been postponed to November 17. The automaker is now accepting pre-orders for its awaited SUV for an amount of ₹1 lakh. Domestic manufacturing of the 2022 Grand Cherokee at its Ranjangaon site in Pune has already begun.
The Grand Cherokee, the new luxury flagship in Jeep India's lineup, has a crisp design, with a modernised Jeep-like grille and svelte LED headlights and taillights. The SUV's interior features an all-black colour scheme with silver accents on the centre console and dashboard.
The standard engine for the carmaker's fifth-generation Grand Cherokee in India will be a 2-litre turbo-petrol unit, mated to an eight-speed automated transmission. The SUV will have Jeep's SelecTerrain traction system installed, and power will be distributed to all four wheels.
The 2022 Grand Cherokee will come equipped with a digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, an optional infotainment screen for the passenger, a 10.1-inch touchscreen system, and wireless phone charging. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which include front collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and auto-emergency braking, will be incorporated into the vehicle's safety suite.
With deliveries commencing by the end of November, the starting price for the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is anticipated to be ₹85 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV will compete against the Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90, Audi Q7, and BMW X5.
