Just like the coupe iteration, the Convertible too is powered by a monstrous 6.0-litre W12 heart that dishes out 650 horses and 900Nm. Highlight features include Bentley’s three chamber active suspension, all-wheel steering, and lots more
A month after the official unveiling of the Continental GT Speed, Bentley has taken the wraps off its convertible iteration. This third-generation of the Continental GT Speed Convertible packs incredible performance, unmatched luxury and numerous options to fully customise your vehicle.
Powering the Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible is the same heart the does duty on the coupe iteration – a 6.0-litre W12 TSI heart that pushes out 650 horses and an insane 900Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed dual clutch transmission that sends power to all four wheels. Bentley claims that the Convertible can cross the 100km/h mark in a mere 3.7 seconds and record a top-speed of 335km/h. To ensure top-notch handling capabilities, the Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible has been fitted with a three-chamber active suspension and a 48V active anti-roll bar that it shares with the Bentayga and the third-gen Continental GT. Carbon ceramic brakes are offered as an optional extra.
Performance aside, the beauty of a Bentley is its cabin that has been hand crafted to perfection. Customers can choose 15 main and 11 secondary hide options to customise the cabin as per their taste. Bentley has worked incredibly hard to achieve a three-decibel reduction in cabin noise at standard cruising speeds. Bentley has made use of new materials for roof insulation and an improved sealing system to reduce the in-cabin noise. The Alcantara steering and the ‘Speed’ insignia make the performance-biased nature of the model amply evident. Quilted diamond upholstery and the Speed emblem on the head rests further add to the sportiness of the car.
In terms of design, the Convertible looks identical to the coupe iteration, except of course the roof. The British carmaker also offers seven exterior roof colour options to choose from. Bentley claims that the Z-fold roof can be deployed or stowed in just 19 seconds at speeds of up to 50km/h. The Continental GT Speed Convertible sits on 22-inch forged alloy wheels. You get three alloy wheel options to choose from.
Bentley has not revealed the pricing of the Continental GT Speed Convertible as yet.
