A bi-turbo V8, sportier styling, lowered chassis, enhanced equipment and a Sport Chrono Package round off the 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS & Coupe GTS models.
Last year, Porsche had unveiled the new 2020 Macan GTS with more power and a lot of sporty driving equipment. Today, the 2021 GTS versions of the flagship Cayenne & Cayenne Coupé have been unveiled. The GTS models slot in between the S & top-spec Turbo derivatives. While the previous Cayenne GTS was on sale with a 3.6-litre bi-turbo V6, this time, Porsche has brought V8 glory to its Cayenne GTS & Coupé GTS models.
Visually, the GTS models are set apart by their standard 21-inch RS Spyder satin-gloss black wheels, huge red brake callipers and dark-tinted LED headlamps & taillamps. Further, body trim like the front air intakes, side window trims, tailpipes and Porsche logos on the rear have all been finished in Black.
In both body styles, the 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 puts out 453bhp and 620Nm of torque, which, for obvious reasons, is lower than the figures of the Cayenne/Coupé Turbo. Over its predecessor though, the new Cayenne GTS produces 19bhp & 20Nm more. With the Sport Chrono Package part of the standard fitment, both the Cayenne GTS & Coupé GTS can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds (0.6 seconds quicker), to reach a top speed of 270km/h.
As mentioned above, the 2021 Cayenne GTS gets a revised chassis setup. The suspension has been lowered by 20mm and coupled with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), the Cayenne/Coupé GTS ensure a dynamic drive experience. Plus, a new high frequency-tuned sports exhaust system (with oval tailpipes offered exclusively on the Cayenne GTS Coupé) ensures an exhaust note as sporty as the ride.
