MG Hector Plus received a facelift back in January this year. A month later it was also introduced with a new CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) option for the petrol buyers. At the time of launch the CVT transmission was priced above the petrol variant equipped with the DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission)
MG have silently hiked the prices of select Hetcor Plus variants and the SUV is now Rs 10,000 dearer to its customers. While the facelift of the Hector and Hector Plus were launched in the month of January, MG also introduced a new CVT petrol variant alongside the DCT petrol variant. Although the CVT was priced above the DCT variant, with the recent price hike the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol variant equipped with the CVT automatic as well as the DCT automatic are at par with each-other.
However, the price of the MG Hector Plus petrol CVT automatic variant still stays the same. Along with the base variant - which are still priced the same.
The MG Hector Plus rivals other 7-seater SUVs in the market such as the Tata Safari and the Mahindra XUV500. Although Safari made a comeback last month, the next generation Mahindra XUV500 is still in the pipeline and is expected to be launched in India by end of 2021.
However, the price hike is limited to only a select variants of the MG Hector Plus variants. The variant wise breakup of the price hike is as follows.
