While bookings for the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift are open, the car is expected to be launched next month.
Jeep India has unveiled the much-awaited 2021 Compass facelift for our market. Though the mid-cycle facelift model was unveiled in China a few months ago, it gave us a good idea of what to expect. The unveiling today gives us a confirmed list of features that will be available in our market and the car's final styling.
Major exterior changes can be found on the 2021 Compass' front fascia. A fresh bumper design, revised headlamps (LED projectors this time, with LED DRLs), and a modified air dam give the car a fresh yet familiar look, as the overall design remains true to the outgoing car. The seven-slat grille has also been given minor updates. The new 18-inch alloy wheels are the only new element when looked from the side, while the rear seems to have been left more or less untouched.
The biggest talking point of the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift, however, is the car's completely revamped interior. Starting with the design, the dashboard is an all-new unit. All major components, ranging from the steering wheel, infotainment system, and HVAC controls to the AC vents and switchgear, have been changed. While dual-tone leather upholstery is reserved for the higher-spec variants, lower and entry-level variants will be offered with all-black fabric upholstery.
In terms of features, the 2021 Compass facelift gets a heavy dose of updates. A new 10.1-inch touchscreen unit headlines the major changes and is powered by FCA's latest UConnect 5 infotainment system. The system features Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as Amazon Alexa integration. The list of features goes on with premium additions like connected car tech, a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree parking camera, powered tailgate, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
One aspect where the 2021 Compass facelift remains the same as the outgoing model is the powertrain options – they are exactly the same as before. You can read more about the powertrain details here.
The production of the 2021 Compass facelift has already begun. Plus, with bookings open, expect Jeep India to launch the car sometime next month. Watch this space for the 2021 Compass' pricing and variant details.
