Jag’s 540 horsepower SUV has just landed in India. It packs a V8 engine with a supercharger and gets a more sophisticated AWD system, all of which helps it shoot to 100km/h in 4 seconds.
Jaguar officially commenced the bookings for the 2021 F-Pace SVR in June this year. Now, the British carmaker has launched the fastest iteration of the F-Pace SUV, for Rs 1.51 Crore (ex-showroom). The sports SUV will be sold in India via the CBU route, hence, the 2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR has been offered for a steep sticker price. The 2021 Jaguar F-Pace SVR mainly rivals the BMW X5 Competition, Audi RSQ8, and Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe.
For the 2021 model year, Jaguar has tweaked the engine a little which in turn offers 20Nm higher peak torque. The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine now makes 543bhp and 700Nm. The gearbox is an eight-speed automatic unit that has been recalibrated to respond quicker. The 2021 F-Pace SVR can do a 0-100km/hr run in a claimed 4 seconds. The top speed of this fast SUV is marked at 286km/hr.
The power delivery of the all-wheel-drive system – Intelligent Driveline Dynamics offered as standard – is rear more biased. This has been made possible with the help of software updates, and Jaguar has also added a launch function into the mix.
The 2021 F-Pace SVR also come with a sharper throttle map, revised steering rack and re-tuned suspensions.
While the mechanicals, electronics and powertrain have been substantially updated, the exterior also gets its fair share of tweaks. The new bumper profile has helped Jaguar reduce the co-efficient of drag of the F-Pace SVR. There is a new diffuser along with dual-tip exhaust at the rear.
The cabin also features a new 11.4-inch curved glass Pivi Pro infotainment system. The multimedia system will get over-the-air updates when necessary.
