The original luxury performance SUV gets a thorough makeover for 2020. After the Bentayga V8, refreshed W12 & plug-in hybrid models to follow towards the end of the year.
Not too long ago, Bentley was celebrating the 20,000-unit production milestone of the Bentayga SUV. And now, we have the new 2021 model that, without a doubt, looks more luxurious and opulent than before. Though the car's overall profile & silhouette remains the same, both front and back of the car have undergone heavy changes. It also gets a 20mm increase in the rear track and 100mm increase in rear legroom.
New elliptical LED headlamps, a slightly more upright matrix grille, larger air intakes in the bumper and redesigned foglamp housings bring the design of the 2021 Bentayga much closer to the new 3rd-gen Continental GT and the new Flying Spur and in line with Bentley's current design philosophy. At the back, a new full-width boot lid, a repositioned license plate holder (now set in the modified bumper), and new oval taillights and exhaust tips give the Bentayga a bespoke and distinct identity. The 22-inch wheels also get a fresh design.
Inside too, the Bentayga has undergone a big makeover. Ranging from a new steering wheel and centre fascia to new door trims and all-new seats, the changes are quite extensive. A new-generation infotainment system with a bigger, 10.9-inch HD touchscreen also headlines the changes inside. The new command centre brings with it an all-new navigation system and wireless Apple CarPlay, alongside Android Auto. An embedded eSIM for My Bentley in-car connected features, along with new USB Type-C ports and a wireless phone charger are all part of the standard kit on the 2021 Bentayga.
Initially, the 2021 Bentayga will go on sale only in the V8 guise. The previous 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 generating 542bhp and 770Nm of torque has been carried over for the new generation. Later in the year, the plug-in Hybrid and W12-powered Speed models of the 2021 Bentayga will also follow.
