Images of the upcoming Toyota Supra have surfaced online prior to its debut.
A small video clip of the much anticipated Toyota Supra has been leaked online, revealing the entire car in all its glory. While the initially leaked content has since been removed, we were able to grab a few images before it was taken down.
The Supra is expected to make its debut at the upcoming 2019 Detroit Auto Show. At Detroit, Toyota is expected to also reveal the car’s technical data, which is currently sparse. What we do know is that it is based off the BMW Z4 sportscar’s platform, and some bits might be lifted off the BMW parts bin. Also, it will feature a similar engine.
From our recent test of the prototype, we know that the engine is the same 3.0-litre, turbocharged in-line six-cylinder motor found in the Z4. Other technical data like the powered and torque output have not yet been revealed but are expected to be around the 340bhp and 500Nm mark. As for the suspension, the Toyota Supra will have a MacPherson strut suspension at the front and a multilink setup at the rear. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed ZF gearbox. However, there could be other engines on offer; a hybrid model is also rumoured.
While some online users are divided on the styling of the front nose, the overall proportions of the car and the rear end look menacing. The Supra will sit on 255/35 front and 275/35 rear tyres.
