With a limited production run of just 100 units, the Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series will go on sale in the US sometime in September 2019.
Lexus has introduced a new, limited-edition Inspiration Series for the 2020 LC 500. While the car remains unchanged mechanically, Lexus has added a host of visual updates both to the car's exterior & interior. The main change on the exterior is a new Nori Green pearl paint finish (exclusive to the Inspiration Series colour palette) with the same set of 21-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
Inside, the LC 500 Inspiration Series gets a two-tone interior theme (Saddle Tan/Black Amber). The Saddle Tan Aniline leather has been used for the seat upholstery, while a darker shade of Alcantara fabric has been used for door inserts to create a contrast. The Black Amber leather trim can be found on the steering wheel, dashboard, centre console and some parts of the door panel. Further, to mark its limited-production run, each unit of the 2020 LC 500 Inspiration Series features a custom sill plate.
As mentioned above, the LC 500 Inspiration Series does not feature any mechanical upgrades. Therefore, it continues to be powered by the naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8, which develops 465bhp & 398Nm of torque. All the power is sent to the rear wheels via a 10-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission, which allows the LC 500 to do its 0-100km/h run in 4.4 seconds.
While India won't be a recipient to the LC Inspiration Series, Lexus recently announced its intention to launch its hybrid version, the LC500h in India, sometime in the second half of 2020. The LC500h is powered by a smaller, 3.5-litre V6 motor.
