The F-Type not only gets a fresh exterior design but also a new fully digital instrument cluster, new infotainment, and much more simplified engine and transmission options
With its hunkered-down stance, the wide rear haunches, and the unique coupe-like silhouette, the Jaguar F-Type has always been one of the most good-looking sports cars out there. The 2020 update replaces some of the sharp cues with smoother, more curvy lines, but it still manages to look as aggressive as ever.
At the front, the 2020 F-Type gets a new sleeker headlight, which makes the car look leaner and meaner than before. A marginally larger grille and lower bonnet give it a sportier stance. Around the back, the updated F-Type gets redesigned taillamps. The refreshed F-Type gets more premium and luxurious interior as well. The 2020 iteration makes extensive use of Sienna Tan Windsor Leather, Suede, and Alcantara. Other changes to the interior include an all-new 12.3-inch driver display and a larger touchscreen infotainment system.
The F-Type will continue to be offered with a variety of engine options, ranging from the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder motor to the range-topping 5.0-litre Supercharged V8. The base F-Type 2.0 will push out 296 horses, same as before, while the 5.0-litre V8 will be available in two tunes – 444bhp and 567bhp. The latter will only be offered with an all-wheel-drive system. Jaguar claims that the top-apex 2020 F-Type can do the 0 – 100kmph dash in just 3.5s.
Jaguar has commenced taking orders for the F-Type in its home market. Global launches are expected shortly, and the car is expected to make its way to India sometime next year. Just like before, the F-Type will come to India in the standard, R, and SVR trims, however, it's possible that they may not all come in at the same time.
