Here is a glimpse of what the next-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA will look like as our Italian partners Quattroruote managed to catch the new fully camouflaged crossover doing cold weather testing. The new GLA is still a couple of years away from being launched as its current generation avatar recently received a facelift, which was revealed at the Detroit Motor Show.

The 2019 GLA will be based on the A-Class' Modular Front Wheel Drive Architecture. It will be lighter than the current version, thanks to the use of light weight materials like high-strength steel and aluminium components. The new GLA also boasts of improved ground clearance.

The new GLA comes with a new imposing large front grille and is more fluid in design as Mercedes-Benz has added more curves to this crossover. The new GLA will come with angular and more contemporary designed headlights along with bigger fog lamps and newly styled bumpers. It will also come with a refreshed tail light cluster.

Major overhaul design will be seen in the cabin as it will be more in the lines of the new E-Class, which will soon make its debut in India. The dashboard will boast of Mercedes-Benz's new COMMAND infotainment system.

Coming to powertrains, the GLA will use the new range of engines, which will be introduced in the next-generation A-Class like the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel and replace the current 2,143cc motor. Expect the new GLA to make its debut in 2019.
