The new A35 4MATIC expands the AMG model portfolio as the new entry-level model.
Mercedes-AMG, in a bid to keep up with the dynamic increase in demand for its compact performance models, has introduced the new A35 AMG 4MATIC. With large air intakes up front and a chunky rear wing at the back, it looks more aggressive than the lesser A-Class models. The rear diffuser, flanked by two round exhaust tips give the car an aggressive stance.
For a heart, the A35 will have a newly-developed 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, derived from the M260 family, producing around 298bhp and 400Nm of torque. The power is sent to both axles through the AMG Speedshift DCT 7G dual-clutch gearbox, giving it a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.7 seconds.
Other than the new, powerful motor, Mercedes-AMG has also made some changes to the bodyshell of the A35 to boost torsional stiffness while the DCT 7G gearbox has modified gear ratios for better throttle response. In addition, the 4MATIC AWD setup is capable of distributing the power in an even 50:50 ratio between the front and rear axle.
The A35 AMG will make its global debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in October and the first round of international deliveries is due to begin in January 2019.
