This refreshed model gets minor cosmetic changes on the outside as well as to the interior
Jeep has given its compact SUV, Renegade a mid-life facelift. The American carmaker released the first images of the 2019 Renegade at the Turin Motor Show in Italy. As is evident from the images, the facelifted Renegade gets a reworked front bumper that houses two circular fog lamps in it and two, clear lens turn indicators. The headlights have been reprofiled too and now get the LED treatment with Daytime Running Lamps. Jeep has also marginally tweaked the taillights.
Interior images of the 2019 Jeep Renegade haven’t been released as yet but spy shots of the same have been making their rounds on the internet for a while. Just like the exterior, the refreshed Renegade has some subtle changes on the inside too. It is expected to come with a larger infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new seat fabric and more.
The European-spec Renegade will also get a new engine option to choose from. It will come with a 1.0-litre three-pot motor that produces 120bhp. The other engine option, a 1.3-litre turbo petrol comes in a 150bhp or 180bhp states of tune. The Jeep Renegade is expected to be launched in the Indian market too. But the India-spec model will not get any of the aforementioned engine options. In fact, it will be fitted with the same engines that powers the Compass – a 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel.
When launched, the Jeep Renegade will compete against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur, and the likes. Going by the price at which the Compass was launched, it is safe to assume that the Renegade will be priced competitively too.
