New 2018 Porsche will be lighter, faster and a lot more luxurious than the current generation.
Drive past it a couple of times and there's a very good chance that you might not even notice the upcoming 2018 Porsche Cayenne. Also the fact that the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer have not taken any pains in camouflaging the prototype, which basically screams out, it is an open secret. Well, this is what the new Cayenne will look like as our magazine partners Quattroruote caught the mule doing test rounds.
When it comes exterior design and going by the photos, the 2018 Cayenne has received a nip-and-tuck job. It comes with new headlamps and the rear lights clusters. As the front bumper is concealed with body-coloured tape, it will get a fresh new design. The cabin, on the other hand, will get a complete makeover as it is inspired by the Panamera's interiors. Therefore, the style quotient and the premiumness of the new Cayenne's cabin will be at least one level above the current SUV.
Based on Audi Q7's MLB platform, the new Cayenne will be a lot lighter in weight. Without the excess mass, the Cayenne will not only return better fuel economy, it will also enhance its performance as it will be able to accelerate faster.
In terms of engine displacements, the 2018 Cayenne will be powered by Panamera's new engine line up — 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 and 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol options, 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel and E-Hybrid, which will also power the new Volkswagen Touareg.
