BMW unveiled the latest incarnation of 1 Series, which comes with new power units, updated exterior and interior, more standard equipment with new mobility services from BMW ConnectedDrive.

The 1 Series features a new lower apron with larger air intakes and a horizontal bar combines with reshaped BMW kidney grilles. The new headlamps now come with LED daytime driving lights as a standard feature on all models. For the first time, full LED headlamps with low and main beam have been added, but this is an optional feature along with Adaptive LED headlamps. They adapt according to the road conditions. It also comes with new 'L' shaped tail lamps with LED lights.

The BMW Radio Professional and iDrive operating system continues to be standard across the entire range. The new 1 Series now comes with a 6.5-inch Control Display, the controller wheel mounted on the centre console, and the direct menu control and favourites buttons. If you opt for the optional Professional Navigation system, the Controller comes with a larger, touch-sensitive surface and an 8.8-inch display screen.

The new 1 Series get BMW's next generation engines, which are aimed to increase fuel efficiency and at the same time provide more power and response. The 116i's 1.6-litre petrol powerplant gets replaced by 1.5-litre, 3 cylinder with 107 hp of power and 180Nm of torque. While the 118d will use new 2-litre four cylinder engine with an output of 150hp at 330Nm of torque.
