The Tata Nexon EV has achieved this milestone in a little over six months since its January 2020 launch.
Despite the recent lockdown that plagued the nation for several months, Tata Motors has rolled out the 1,000th Nexon EV from its Pune plant. The milestone has been achieved in a little over six months since the car's launch in January 2020. Had it not been for the lockdown, the milestone may have been achieved a bit quicker. The Nexon EV has also helped Tata capture a market share of 62% (for EVs) in Q1 FY20-21.
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Shailesh Chandra (President – Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors Ltd.) said, 'Acceptance of EVs is accelerating fast, and we are seeing growing interest in it from all parts of the country. The rollout of the 1,000th Nexon EV in a short time span, despite the challenges of COVID-19, reflects the rising interest of personal segment buyers in EVs.'
The Tata Nexon EV was launched in the country with attractive pricing, and just a few days ago, Tata had also launched a leasing/subscription model for the Nexon EV, which eliminates the concept of a heavy down-payment in exchange for a flat monthly subscription fee.
To further increase the uptake of its EVs in the country, Tata had also launched the 'Tata uniEVerse' e-mobility ecosystem that offers customers a suite of services (such as charging solutions, retail experiences, & easy financing options) from other Tata Group companies.
