The French car manufacturer, Renault, has had tremendous success with the Duster crossover vehicle, and in just two years since its launch in India the Renault Duster has clocked 100,000 unit sales. That is quite an achievement despite the stiff competition that has been mounting in this segment with the entry of many other manufacturers.
In April we broke the news that the Renault Duster - which is sold in over 100 countries - had produced 1 million units worldwide, and that India had played a huge part in that success, and now Renault has just announced a special 1 Lakh Limited Edition Duster for the Indian market to celebrate this 1 Lakh unit sales milestone in India.
The 1 Lakh Limited Edition Duster will be priced at Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom all over the country, and will be available throughout the month of June 2014. The limited edition variant is based on the 85bhp Diesel Duster and will now feature steering mounted controls, a 2-DIN MP3 player with Aux-in and USB, two airbags and ABS for safety, while its interiors get a beige wash.
Although the international market has already received a facelifted version of the Duster, there are currently no plans for this new facelift to be launched in India, however Renault has informed us that a 4x4 variant will be available in the country by the end of the year.
