Yamaha’s latest offerings – the YZF-R15 V4 and YZF-R15 M – which were already on the expensive side, have received a price hike of Rs 3,000.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 was launched in September 2021 for Rs 1.68 lakh (ex-showroom), along with the top-of-the-line Yamaha YZF-R15 M, which was priced at Rs 1.78 lakh (ex-showroom).
Now, Yamaha India has increased the price of the YZF-R15, across the range by Rs 3,000. This is the first price hike of the R15 V4 and the R15 M, and we suspect that both bikes may once again witness a price hike in the first week of 2022, owing to the revision of raw material and logistic costs. This cost revision, however, is applicable to all car and motorcycle manufacturers.
Following are the new prices of the Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 and the YZF-R15 M:
Model | Price (ex-showroom) |
Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 Metallic Red | Rs 1,70,800 |
Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 Dark Knight | Rs 1,71,800 |
Yamaha YZF-R15 V4 Racing Blue | Rs 1,75,800 |
Yamaha YZF-R15 M Metallic Grey | Rs 1,80,800 |
Yamaha YZF-R15 M Monster Energy MotoGP Edition | Rs 1,82,800 |
Other than the price hike, there are no changes to the motorcycles. The R15 V4 and the R15 M continue with the same styling, features, and mechanicals.
The engine is the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit, which puts out 18.1bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm at 7,500rpm. The gearbox here is a six-speed unit, featuring a slip and assist clutch.
Other features include a quick shifter, which is a standard accessory on the R15 M, but the R15 V4 buyers can option it for an added cost. The motorcycles get an all-digital instrument cluster, with sets of displays –Track and Street.
