If you own a Yamaha motorcycle or a scooter and its warranty is due to expire during the lockdown, don't worry, for Yamaha India has extended the warranty period for such customers.
Due to the unprecedented rise in Covid-19 cases across the nation, various state governments have enforced lockdown and strict rules, which suggest that citizens should stay indoors unless it's absolutely necessary. In some states, the lockdown has been imposed until June 1, 2021, which could affect the maintenance schedule of cars and motorcycles, especially those whose warranty is due to expire during the lockdown phase. However, Yamaha India has announced that the company will extend the time frame for the maintenance schedule (free service) for its customers up to June 30, 2021.
Additionally, Yamaha has also prolonged the standard warranty, extended warranty, and annual maintenance contracts, which are due to expire during the lockdown phase, until June 30.
All Yamaha authorised dealerships and service stations in India have been notified to ensure hassle-free availability of these benefits to customers. The benefits are applicable to all Yamaha motorcycles and scooters sold in India, which are under standard warranty or extended warranty.
Recently, Yamaha teased an upcoming supersport motorcycle; however, the motorcycle is mainly targeted towards the European market. For now, Yamaha India is expected to launch a more off-road oriented motorcycle based on the FZ-S, whose spy shots been doing rounds on the internet for some time now.
