Under the banner of its brand campaign ‘The Call of The Blue’, Yamaha Motor India has introduced a new Chrome colour on the FZ-X. This update is a part of the company's commitment to refreshing its product line-up with exciting updates, including cosmetic changes and vibrant colour schemes. The new Yamaha FZ-X Chrome, which is said to combine both style and performance, sets you back by Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). For the first 100 buyers, the two-wheeler manufacturer offers a Casio G-Shock watch on the delivery of the motorcycle. The Chrome colour variant will go on sale alongside the Metallic Black colour variant, which is available at Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Yamaha FZ-X Chrome Edition: Design, Features
To refresh your memory, Yamaha unveiled the FZ-X Chrome alongside the FZ-X Metallic Black at the recently held Bharat Mobility Expo 2024 in New Delhi (scheduled between February 1 and 3). Visually, the Chrome Edition gets a glossy chrome tank with gold-coloured wheels, while the rest of the components are finished in black. The styling is complemented by an LED headlight with daytime running lights, a multi-function LCD instrument cluster, a Bluetooth-enabled Y-Connect smartphone application, a USB charger, ABS, and a side-stand engine cut-off mechanism.
Yamaha FZ-X Chrome Edition: Mechanical Specs
Powering the new FZ-X Chrome Edition is a 149cc single-cylinder engine that also propels the Yamaha FZ-S. Together with a five-speed transmission, this setup is good enough to generate 12.23bhp of maximum power at 7,250rpm and 13.3Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm.
Yamaha FZ-X Chrome Edition: Hardware
In terms of hardware, the motorcycle features 17-inch wheels with 100/80 front and 140/60 rear tyres, providing it enough traction to match its aggressive riding style. The braking duties are taken care of by 282mm front and 220mm rear discs, accompanied by single-channel ABS. On offer is also a traction control system.
Yamaha R15M Carbon Edition to Launch in India?
The Yamaha R15M Carbon Edition was on display too. However, the company has yet to confirm whether the R15M Carbon Edition will go on sale in India. If launched, expect the recently unveiled Carbon Edition to command a slight premium over the MotoGP Edition.
Cosmetically, the new edition gets a carbon-fibre finish on its headlight fairing and rear quarter panel, while the base Silver colour of the fuel tank remains unchanged. Other noticeable bits include blue accents across the fairing and blacked-out wheels.
In terms of mechanicals, the Yamaha R15M Carbon Edition comes powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled motor, which puts out 18bhp at 10,000rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. The gearbox is a six-speed unit, featuring a slip and assist clutch. The suspension setup consists of 37mm upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, whereas a 282mm single disc performs the braking duties at the front and a 220mm single rotor at the back.
