Yamaha’s given a ray of hope. The company has announced a substantial price reduction for two of its 250cc motorcycles, the Yamaha FZ 25 and the Yamaha FZS 25. The former was priced at Rs 1.53 lakh and the latter retailed at Rs 1.58 lakh (both ex-showroom)
In the recent past, most two-wheeler and four-wheeler manufacturers increased the prices of their respective products. The price hike was a result of higher input and transit costs at the time of the second wave of the nationwide pandemic. Yamaha two-wheelers India was one such manufacturer that increased the cost of a few of its products in the recent past. This time around, Yamaha India has announced that the company has substantially reduced the cost of two of its motorcycles, the FZ 25 and the FZS 25, and the new prices are effective from June 1, 2021.
The Yamaha FZ 25 has seen a price cut of Rs 18,800 and the motorcycle now retails for Rs 1,34,800 (ex-showroom). The FZS 25 has seen a reduction in price by Rs 19,300 and the new revised price is marked at Rs 1,39,300 (ex-showroom). Other than the substantial price drop, both the motorcycles do not sport any mechanical or cosmetic changes.
Yamaha says that its India team has managed to reduce the input cost and the company plans on passing these benefits to its customers. The benefits are limited to the Yamaha FZ 25 and the FZS 25 and there is no official word from the manufacturer if there could be a price reduction in its other motorcycles and scooters.
