It's been a long time coming, and the Yamaha Fazer 25 is finally here. Prices start at Rs. 1.28 lakh.
Spy shots of the Fazer 25 have been making their rounds on the internet over the last few weeks but today we finally got a glimpse of the motorcycle. The Fazer 25 is a faired version of the FZ25 that was launched a few months back. Unlike its smaller displacement sibling, the Fazer 25 has a single unit LED headlight up front. The large fairing although sharp does look a bit odd in a few angles. The Fazer 25 gets a 14-litre fuel tank. The Japanese manufacturer claims that you can do a Mumbai-Goa run in a single tank of the motorcycle.
At the heart, the Yamaha Fazer 25 shares its engine with the Yamaha FZ25. The single-cylinder 249cc air-cooled motor produces 20.6bhp@8,000rpm and 20Nm@6,000rpm. This engine comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of features too, the Fazer gets the same equipment as the FZ25.
Despite of ABS becoming a norm in motorcycles now-a-days, Yamaha has decided to give it a miss on the new Fazer 25. The Japanese company has launched the Fazer 25 in two colours - soulful cyan and rhythmic red. The Fazer 25 will compete against the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar RS200, KTM RC200 and the Honda CBR250R.
The Fazer 25 is priced at Rs. 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) and Rs. 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
