Suzuki Motorcycle India is, perhaps, gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited Gixxer 250 on 20th May 2019.
Yes, folks! It seems that the wait might just come to an end on 20th May 2019, as Suzuki Motorcycle India has dropped a teaser of its new launch. As of now, we do not have any confirmation on which product it is going to be or whether 20th May is the actual launch date or just a date for the reveal. However, going by our January 2019 report, which talks about Suzuki's plans for launching a 250cc motorcycle in India, we can't help but link this teaser to the launch of the Gixxer 250. While the bike is sold as the GSX250R in the international markets, Suzuki might just label this one under the Gixxer product family in India due to the nameplate's recent success here.
Also, usage of phrases like 'Save the date for the most exciting launch of the year' makes it pretty obvious that it won't just be an upgrade to an existing model but a new model altogether. The teaser itself looks like the front-end of a motorcycle, giving us a glimpse of the headlight design, which looks very similar to that of the GSX-S1000F. Rumours suggest that the Gixxer 250 will first be launched in naked guise, followed by its fully-faired version. However, there is no confirmation of this as well.
While Suzuki has mentioned that more details will be revealed as a build up to the launch, it seems only fair to get to the technical specs of the bike at a later stage. For now, all we can do is pray that it is going to be the Gixxer 250. As for its competition, it will go up against the likes of the Yamaha FZ25. So, expect the pricing to be around the ₹ 1.3 lakh mark.
