VLF Tennis Electric Scooter Launched at Rs 1.30 Lakh in India; Gets 130km Range, Removable Battery and More

The VLF Tennis electric scooter will be assembled at Veloce Motors’ facility in Kolhapur, with deliveries set to begin on November 25.

Italian two-wheeler brand VLF has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of its electric scooter, the Tennis. Priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), the Tennis will be sold and assembled in India by KAW Veloce Motors. KAW Veloce Motors plans to establish 20 dealerships across India by mid-2025 and will sell VLF and Brixton motorcycles through its MotoHaus outlets. The Tennis is set to be delivered to customers starting November 25, 2024.

In addition to the Tennis, KAW Veloce Motors also launched the Brixton motorcycles with four bikes in India: the Crossfire 500X, Crossfire 500XC, Cromwell 1200, and Cromwell 1200X, priced between Rs 4.74 lakh and Rs 9.11 lakh (ex-showroom).

VLF Tennis: Details

The KAW Veloce Motors Tennis is a compact electric scooter designed for urban commuting. Powered by a 2.5kWh removable battery pack, it offers a range of up to 130km (IDC) and a top speed of 65km/h. The scooter's 1.5 kW hub motor enables it to handle inclines up to 18 degrees and operate in temperatures ranging from -5 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius. The included 720-watt charger can fully charge the battery in approximately three hours.

Weighing 88kg, the Tennis features a sturdy aluminium swingarm, telescopic fork, and monoshock suspension. It rides on 12-inch wheels and is equipped with disc brakes on both ends. While offering limited under-seat storage for a half-face helmet, the scooter has a comfortable seat height of 780mm and a ground clearance of 140mm.

The Tennis comes with modern features like LED lights and a 5-inch TFT display. However, its pricing is higher than competitors like the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Vida V1, and Ather 450X, despite having a smaller battery pack.
