VinFast is generating significant excitement ahead of its official debut in India at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Vietnamese automaker will present its global lineup of electric cars at this auto expo, starting from January 17 in New Delhi. Additionally, the company has confirmed that it will showcase its electric scooter lineup at the event. VinFast plans to launch electric scooters in the Indian market following the introduction of its electric cars. Last year, VinFast trademarked the design patent for the Klara S in India, shortly after signing a memorandum of understanding with the Tamil Nadu government to establish an EV manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi. Therefore, it is likely that the Klara S will be the first Vietnamese electric scooter available in the Indian market.

VinFast offers a range of seven electric scooters in its home country. The lineup includes entry-level models such as the Motio, Evo200, and Evo200 Lite. At the top of the range are the VinFast Theon S and Vento Sare, while the Feliz S and Klara S occupy a mid-range position. The company also makes an electric bicycle, called the DrgnFly, but that's exclusively for the US market. The entry-level VinFast Motio is equipped with a 1.26 kWh battery, providing a top speed of 49 km/h and a claimed range of 82 km. All other models feature a 3.5 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, each with different styles and performance specifications.

The Vinfast Klara S, which is anticipated for the Indian market, comes with a 1.8kW hub motor in its home market. It has a maximum speed of 78km/h and claims a range of about 194km and 6 hours of standard charging time for zero to 100 per cent. Clearly, it is going to rival brands like the Ola S1 Pro, Vida V1/V2, Ather Rizta and TVS iQube, and should be introduced in the similar price bracket of Rs 1.1 lakh to 1.5 lakh in India.
