Priced at Rs 72,190, the Urban Club variant is Vespa’s most affordable offering. The scooter has already arrived at dealerships and deliveries have commenced too.
Piaggio has introduced the Vespa 125 in a new avatar – the Urban Club. Launched at Rs 72,190 (ex-showroom Pune), the Vespa Urban Club will be available in four colour options - Azzurro Provenza, Maze Grey, Glossy Yellow and Glossy Red. Unlike the other Vespa 125 variants, this one gets black treatment on the mirrors, wheels and grab rail. The other, more expensive Vespa 125 trims get these parts in chrome. In line with the new safety regulations, the Vespa 125 Urban Club also comes with Combined Braking System. Being a base variant, the Vespa Urban Club only comes with drum brakes at both ends.
Speaking about the launch, Diego Graffi, CEO and MD Piaggio India said, “Drawing inspiration from the timeless brand, Vespa Urban Club is a culmination of elegance and new trends, backed by cutting edge technology. We believe the new Vespa Urban Club will add to the style quotient of the rider and will be well-appreciated by Vespa fans.”
Piaggio currently has the Vespa 125 on sale in 6 trims – Urban Club, Notte, ZX, Red, SXL and VXL. Mechanically, all of these are based on the same 125cc motor that develops 9.5bhp and 9.9Nm. In comparison to other 125cc scooters in the market, the Vespa 125 does feel low on equipment and features, but it does manage to attract buyers with its iconic style and premium image. Piaggio also has the 150 range of Vespas on sale along with the Aprilia SR 125 and the SR150.
