Piaggio India has announced that on November 15, the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani an dthe Vespa 70th Anniversary Edition will be launched.
The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani is a highly exclusive premium scooter that will be made in limited numbers. To celebrate the Vespa brands 70th anniversary, a special edition Vespa will also be launched to commemorate the occasion. The launch was initially scheduled for the month of October, but has been postponed to the 15th of November.
Both scooters will get a 125cc four-stroke, 3-valve electronic-injection engine that develops 11.7bhp and 10.3Nm of torque, paired with an automatic transmission. The Emporio Armani edition will be the second most expensive scooter in India as it will be priced around Rs. 8-10 lakh ex-showroom. This model came about to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Georgio Armani and the 130th anniversary of the Piaggio Group. The Vespa 946 Emporio Armani edition wil also get 220mm double disc brakes, ABS and ASR traction control.
The styling of the scooter consists of a theme that stays true and pays homage to the 1946 Vespa, with the underpinnings of a modern day scooter. The rims, handlebars, side panels, front mudguard are all made from aluminium and have been given a galvanic treatment. The whole scooter is wrapped in satin black paint scheme.
