Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to introduce an update for its most expensive scooter, the Destini 125. The launch date is under wraps, but expect Hero to launch the new iteration during the first week of next month. The existing Hero Destini 125 went on sale around six years ago, and ever since then, the scooter has remained largely untouched.
While the official teaser hasn't divulged anything, the patent image suggests that the updated Hero Destini will get a more boxy design than the current iteration, along with cleaner lines on the sides. The front fascia will likely be marked out by a triangular headlamp and apron-mounted indicators, while there could be a sleeker tail section at the back. Other expected bits include a beefy grab rail, a new external fuel filler cap, and a revised exhaust system. A range of new colour options is also on the cards.

Updated Hero Destini 125: Powertrain, Hardware
The new Destini 125 should be powered by the same 124.6cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine mated to a CVT. In the current iteration, the engine develops 9bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.4Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. There is a possibility that Hero might offer a few engine tweaks for the upcoming Destini 125.
Underpinnings are also expected to be the same as before – telescopic front fork and rear monoshock. The braking hardware will likely comprise a disc-drum setup for the top-spec variant. The existing Destini 125 sits on 10-inch wheels, and we expect that to change with the updated iteration. Expect Hero to equip the new bike with 12-inch wheels at both ends or at least a 12-inch wheel at the front to remain relevant in the market.
Updated Hero Destini 125: Features
Over the current Hero Destini 125, the new scooter is expected to add all-LED lighting and a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, among other features. The scooter presently comes with a digi-analogue console, a USB charger, a pillion backrest, and storage cubbies.

With a range of improvements over its predecessor, the Hero Destini 125 will compete with the Suzuki Access 125, TVS Jupiter 125, and the Honda Activa 125. It will likely cost between 80,000 and Rs 85,000 (ex-showroom).
