For 2019, the TVS Apache RR 310 gets a new race-tuned slipper clutch and some minor cosmetic upgrades.
The TVS Apache RR 310, ever since its launch, has been a successful bike amid the 300cc segment and we have also admired it for its effortless riding capabilities. To keep it on top of its game though, TVS has launched a 2019 version of the bike with a handful of changes, priced at ₹ 2.27 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new price is only about ₹3,000 more than before.
The most important change comes in the form of a new race-tuned slipper clutch. Like the A-RT (Anti-Reverse Torque) on the Apache RTR 200, the unit on the RR 310 also works in the same manner, providing near seamless downshifts with no rear wheel locking. The 'race-tuned' bit could refer to a lighter clutch lever with shorter travel.
This is perhaps the only mechanical change on the bike as the 2019 version continues to be powered by the same 312.2cc single-cylinder reverse-inclined DOHC liquid-cooled engine, which is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The power and torque output also remain unchanged at 33.5bhp and 27.3Nm, respectively.
Visually, the 2019 TVS Apache RR 310 gets a new gloss 'Phantom Black' colour option (main image), which replaces the erstwhile matte-finish Racing Black. The Racing Red continues to be the other colour on offer. Also, the Phantom Black colour gets red & white stripes running across the centre of the bike. We'll be riding the bike very soon watch this space for our review. Meanwhile, you can know more about the Apache RR 310 in our long-term reports below.
